(Part One) How to do a Budget-Friendly Kitchen Renovation (BEFORE & AFTER)

Kitchen Renovation Before & After

A kitchen renovation before and after picture will get me every time.  I love to pour over pictures and see what other talent and creative people did to make their kitchens look amazing.

It has come to my attention that there are so many aspects to a kitchen renovation that I had to break it down to 3 Main sections.  When you are starting a kitchen renovation, the process can seem daunting which is why we came up with the ULTIMATE HOME IMPROVEMENT GUIDE.

After you download the guide, use it to help you keep tract of what decisions you need to make when you go to the store or ordering online.  There are so many decisions to make regarding price and features so let our GUIDE help track your budget items and preferences.

Kitchen remodel inspiration

When you don’t know what you want, look for inspiration and track what you liked.

A PINTEREST BOARD is the perfect place to start gathering your ideas and tracking what you like.  It could be the color of the cabinets or the layout of the island that draws you to any one design.

I like to create boards for each area of the kitchen that I am renovating. In this video, I designated 13 ESSENTIAL areas that you will want to address if you are trying to stay on budget. We discuss Bells & Whistles in Part two of this series.

The 13 Essential areas are:

  1. Walls
  2. Doors
  3. Windows
  4. Paint
  5. Countertops
  6. Faucet
  7. Outlets
  8. Cabinets
  9. Lighting
  10. Microwave/Hood/Vent
  11. Range/Stove
  12. Sink
  13. Flooring

Be sure to write down your final thoughts on our ULTIMATE HOME IMPROVEMENT GUIDE for when you go shopping.

Countertop Material Ideas

We understand how difficult it is to make a decision when you love so many different looks. On high ticket items, like countertops, we did interviews with home owners who detailed why they liked different types of materials for their countertops.  Check out those interviews here:

  • Granite
  • Laminate
  • Quartz
  • Butcher Block
  • Concrete

We offer a course on HOW TO CREATE CUSTOM CONCRETE COUNTERTOPS which goes into detail about how to pour in place concrete countertops.
