What is a Silhouette Cameo?
I had no idea. I had never heard of a Silhouette Cameo until a month ago.
My cousins are amazing. Danielle, who has been a huge supporter of Pink Tool Girl, has been telling me for months that I need a Silhouette machine. I dismissed it because I thought, “I have too many projects to do now, why would I add more to my list? Seriously, have you seen my house renovation project?”
She laughed and assured me that I would use the Silhouette Cameo for many of my Pink Tool Girl ideas. I’m so glad that she was persistent. I researched this machine and fell in love with its numerous DIY project possibilities. The Silhouette Cameo has so many capabilities that it makes my head swim.
Typically, I don’t read machine manuals from cover to cover; I just dive in but I couldn’t wrap my head around all this machine was suppose to do. It can print, cut, and design virtually any idea you can think to create.
I bought the book Silhouette School by the guru herself, Melissa Viscount. It took me a few days to figure out what machine to order. I ordered this Silhouette Cameo package to get started. When it arrived, like a little kid at Christmas, I stayed up way past my bedtime and played with my new toy.
My first project was self-serving but super cute. I’ve joked with friends and family that everything I wear and probably everything I give them will be personalized with their initials, monogrammed, pictures of kids, etc.
With the Cameo, I was able to add the cute font and rhinestones to this blank-canvas shirt. As I continue to get proficient using this amazing machine, I’m looking forward to creating many DIY home projects to personalize my space and give you ideas and tips how you can do the same in your home.
